Personal Information:
Do not disclose your personal information such as the addresses to where you live or work, your full name or phone number.
Display Name:
Do not make your display name your full name. Use only your display name, especially with people you are meeting for the first time.
Do your Homework:
Make sure you review the person’s profile prior to accepting their Handshake request. If the person has an empty profile..ask them to fill it out. Feel free to send them private messages requesting more information to be sure you want to connect with them.
Always Meet in Public Places:
Create all your listings for connecting with people in public places. Do not have someone come pick you up at your home or work. Meet them at the location of the event/listing.
Let People Know Where you are Going:
Let people you trust know where you are going, who you are going with, and when you expect to be back.
Membership Card:
It’s a perfectly valid request to ask to see the person’s membership card when you meet with them to verify they are the WhyGoSolo member they say they are.
Trust your Instincts:
If it feels odd, fishy or off... it is. Your gut and instincts will tell you if you’re in a bad situation so listen and get away.
Report Suspicious Activities:
WhyGoSolo does not tolerate inappropriate and threatening behavior. Immediately report any suspicious activities or abuse so we can take appropriate action.
